UNTO thee, O LORD, will I lift up my soul; my God, I have put my trust in thee: * O let me not be confounded, neither let mine enemies triumph over me.
For all they that hope in thee shall not be ashamed; * but such as transgress without a cause shall be put to confusion.
Show me thy ways, O LORD, * and teach me thy paths.
Lead me forth in thy truth, and learn me: * for thou art the God of my salvation; in thee hath been my hope all the day long.
Call to remembrance, O LORD, thy tender mercies, * and thy loving-kindnesses, which have been ever of old.
O remember not the sins and offences of my youth; * but according to thy mercy think thou upon me, O LORD, for thy goodness.
Gracious and righteous is the LORD; * therefore, will he teach sinners in the way.
Them that are meek shall he guide in judgment; * and such as are gentle, them shall he learn his way.
All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, * unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For thy Name's sake, O LORD, * be merciful unto my sin; for it is great.
What man is he that feareth the LORD? * him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell at ease, * and his seed shall inherit the land.
The secret of the LORD is among them that fear him; * and he will show them his covenant.
Mine eyes are ever looking unto the LORD; * for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; * for I am desolate, and in misery.
The sorrows of my heart are enlarged: * O bring thou me out of my troubles.
Look upon my adversity and misery, * and forgive me all my sin.
Consider mine enemies, how many they are; * and they bear a tyrannous hate against me.
O keep my soul, and deliver me: * let me not be confounded, for I have put my trust in thee.
Let perfectness and righteous dealing wait upon me; * for my hope hath been in thee.
Deliver Israel, O God, * out of all his troubles.

To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

ALMIGHTY Father, who hast given thine only Son to die for our sins, and to rise again for our justification; Grant us so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness, that we may always serve thee in pureness of living and truth; through the merits of the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
