Deus misereatur.
God be merciful unto us, and bless us,
* and show us the light of his countenance, and be

O let the nations rejoice and be glad;

The Ninety-Sixth Psalm
Cantate Domino.
O SING unto the LORD a new song;
* sing unto the LORD, all the whole earth.

Declare his honour unto the heathen,
* and his wonders unto all peoples.
For the LORD is great, and cannot worthily be praised;
* he is more to be feared than all gods.
As for all the gods of the heathen, they are but idols;

GLORY be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men. We
praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give
thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the
Father Almighty.
O Lord, the only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son
of the Father, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon
us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.
Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon
us. For thou only art holy; thou only art the Lord; thou only, O Christ,
with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
The First Lesson
Ecclesiasticus 51:13-22
When I was yet young, or ever I went abroad, I desired wisdom openly in my prayer. I prayed for her
before the temple, and will seek her out even to the end. Even from the flower till the grape was ripe hath
my heart delighted in her: my foot went the right way, from my youth up sought I after her. I bowed down
mine ear a little, and received her, and gat much learning. I profited therein, therefore will I ascribe glory
unto him that giveth me wisdom. For I purposed to do after her, and earnestly I followed that which is
good; so shall I not be confounded. My soul hath wrestled with her, and in my doings I was exact: I
stretched forth my hands to the heaven above, and bewailed my ignorances of her. I directed my soul unto
her, and I found her in pureness: I have had my heart joined with her from the beginning, therefore shall I
not be foresaken. My heart was troubled in seeking her: therefore have I gotten a good possession. The
Lord hath given me a tongue for my reward, and I will praise him therewith.
Magnificat. St. Luke i. 46.
MY soul doth magnify the Lord, * and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my
Saviour.
For he hath regarded * the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold, from henceforth * all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath magnified me; * and holy is his Name.

The Second Lesson
Acts 12:25 - 13:3
And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took
with them John, whose surname was Mark. Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain
prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and
Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord,
and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called
them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

LORD, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, * according to thy
word.
For mine eyes have seen * thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared * before the face of all people;
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles, * and to be the glory of thy

The Collect for the Day
The Third Sunday After Easter
ALMIGHTY God, who showest to them that are in
error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they
may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all
those who are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Religion,
that they may avoid those things that are contrary
to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable
to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Collect for Peace.
O GOD, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works
do proceed; Give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot
give; that our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that
by thee, we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our
time in rest and quietness; through the merits of Jesus Christ our
Saviour. Amen.
A Collect for Aid against Perils.
LIGHTEN our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord; and by thy great mercy
defend us from all perils and dangers of this night; for the love of thy
only Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Prayer for the President of the United States
A Prayer for the Clergy and People.
Almighty and everlasting God, from whom cometh every good and perfect
gift; Send down upon our Bishops, and other Clergy, and upon the
Congregations committed to their charge, the healthful Spirit of thy
grace; and, that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual
dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honour of our Advocate
and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Prayer for All Conditions of Men.
O God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech thee
for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to
make thy ways known unto them, thy saving health unto all nations. More
especially we pray for thy holy Church universal; that it may be so
guided and governed by thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call
themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the
faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of
life. Finally, we commend to thy fatherly goodness all those who are any
ways afflicted, or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; [* especially
those for whom our prayers are desired;] that it may please thee to
comfort and relieve them, according to their several necessities; giving
them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their
