Sentences of Scripture.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my
heart, be alway acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my
strength and my redeemer. Psalm xix. 14.
The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the
Father seeketh such to worship him. St. John iv. 23.
General Confession & Absolution
O Lord, open thou our lips.
Answer. And our mouth shall show forth thy praise.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
Answer. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

O COME, let us sing unto the LORD; * let us heartily
rejoice in the strength of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; * and
show ourselves glad in him with psalms.
For the LORD is a great God; * and a great King
above all gods.
In his hand are all the corners of the earth; * and the
strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it; * and his hands
prepared the dry land.
O come, let us worship and fall down, * and kneel
before the LORD our Maker.
For he is the Lord our God; * and we are the people

The Eighty-Fifth Psalm
Benedixisti, Domine.
LORD, thou art become gracious unto thy land;
* thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.
Thou hast forgiven the offence of thy people,
* and covered all their sins.
Thou hast taken away all thy displeasure,
* and turned thyself from thy wrathful indignation.
Turn us then, O God our Saviour,
* and let thine anger cease from us.
Wilt thou be displeased at us for ever?
* and wilt thou stretch out thy wrath from one
generation to another?
Wilt thou not turn again, and quicken us,
* that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Show us thy mercy, O LORD,
* and grant us thy salvation.
I will hearken what the LORD God will say;
* for he shall speak peace unto his people, and to his
saints, that they turn not again unto foolishness.
For his salvation is nigh them that fear him;
* that glory may dwell in our land.
Mercy and truth are met together:
* righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Truth shall flourish out of the earth,
* and righteousness hath looked down from heaven.
Yea, the LORD shall show loving-kindness;
* and our land shall give her increase.
Righteousness shall go before him,
* and shall direct his going in the way.

The First Lesson
Exodus 25:1-11, 17-22
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an
offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. And this is the
offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and
fine linen, and goats' hair, And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, Oil for the
light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and
in the breastplate. And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all
that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so
shall ye make it. And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length
thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. And thou
shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of
gold round about. And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the
length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of
beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. And make one cherub on the one
end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two
ends thereof. And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with
their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the
cherubims be. And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the
testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from
above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all
things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

The Second Lesson
Hebrews 9:15
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption
of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise
of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every
precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and
scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the
testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and
all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without
shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens
should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For
Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into
heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as
the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have
suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put
away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he
appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Benedictus. St. Luke i. 68.
BLESSED be the Lord God of Israel; * for he hath visited and
redeemed his people;
And hath raised up a mighty salvation for us, * in the
house of his servant David;
As he spake by the mouth of his holy Prophets, * which
have been since the world began;
That we should be saved from our enemies, * and from
the hand of all that hate us.
To perform the mercy promised to our forefathers, * and
to remember his holy covenant;
To perform the oath which he sware to our forefather
Abraham, * that he would give us;
That we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies *
might serve him without fear;
In holiness and righteousness before him, * all the days
of our life.
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: * for

shadow of death, * and to guide our feet into the way of
peace.

The Apostles' Creed.
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy
Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was
crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he
rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge
the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost: The holy Catholic Church; The Communion of
Saints: The Forgiveness of sins: The Resurrection of the body: And the

The Lord's Prayer.
OUR Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us
from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for
ever and ever. Amen.
Minister. O Lord, show thy mercy upon us.
Answer. And grant us thy salvation.
Minister. O God, make clean our hearts within us.
Answer. And take not thy Holy Spirit from us.
The Collect for the Day
The Third Sunday After Easter
ALMIGHTY God, who showest to them that are in
error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they
may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all
those who are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Religion,
that they may avoid those things that are contrary
to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable
to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Collect for Peace.
O GOD, who art the author of peace and lover of concord,
in knowledge of whom standeth our eternal life, whose service
is perfect freedom; Defend us thy humble servants in all assaults
of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in thy defence, may not
fear the power of any adversaries, through the might of Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
A Collect for Grace.
O Lord, our heavenly Father, Almighty and everlasting God,
who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day; Defend
us in the same with thy mighty power; and grant that this day
we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but
that all our doings, being ordered by thy governance, may be
righteous in thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer for the President of the United States
A Prayer for the Clergy and People.
Almighty and everlasting God, from whom cometh every good and perfect
gift; Send down upon our Bishops, and other Clergy, and upon the
Congregations committed to their charge, the healthful Spirit of thy
grace; and, that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual
dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honour of our Advocate
and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Prayer for All Conditions of Men.
O God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech thee
for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to
make thy ways known unto them, thy saving health unto all nations. More
especially we pray for thy holy Church universal; that it may be so
guided and governed by thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call
themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the
faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of
life. Finally, we commend to thy fatherly goodness all those who are any
ways afflicted, or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; [* especially
those for whom our prayers are desired;] that it may please thee to
comfort and relieve them, according to their several necessities; giving
them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their
afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
A General Thanksgiving
A Prayer of St. Chrysostom

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
