UNTO thee, O LORD, will I lift up my soul; my God, I have put my trust in thee: * O let me not be confounded, neither let mine enemies triumph over me.
For all they that hope in thee shall not be ashamed; * but such as transgress without a cause shall be put to confusion.
Show me thy ways, O LORD, * and teach me thy paths.
Lead me forth in thy truth, and learn me: * for thou art the God of my salvation; in thee hath been my hope all the day long.
Call to remembrance, O LORD, thy tender mercies, * and thy loving-kindnesses, which have been ever of old.
O remember not the sins and offences of my youth; * but according to thy mercy think thou upon me, O LORD, for thy goodness.
Gracious and righteous is the LORD; * therefore, will he teach sinners in the way.
Them that are meek shall he guide in judgment; * and such as are gentle, them shall he learn his way.
All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, * unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For thy Name's sake, O LORD, * be merciful unto my sin; for it is great.
What man is he that feareth the LORD? * him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell at ease, * and his seed shall inherit the land.
The secret of the LORD is among them that fear him; * and he will show them his covenant.
Mine eyes are ever looking unto the LORD; * for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; * for I am desolate, and in misery.
The sorrows of my heart are enlarged: * O bring thou me out of my troubles.
Look upon my adversity and misery, * and forgive me all my sin.
Consider mine enemies, how many they are; * and they bear a tyrannous hate against me.
O keep my soul, and deliver me: * let me not be confounded, for I have put my trust in thee.
Let perfectness and righteous dealing wait upon me; * for my hope hath been in thee.
Deliver Israel, O God, * out of all his troubles.

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzibah. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel. For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. And the Lord spake by his servants the prophets, saying, Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols: Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down. And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies; Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day. Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the Lord. Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

LORD, we beseech thee to keep thy household the Church in continual godliness; that through thy protection it may be free from all adversities, and devoutly given to serve thee in good works, to the glory of thy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
